PHYSICAL EDUCATION INTRAMURALS
3RD, 4TH & 5TH GRADE INFORMATION
Intramurals for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade boys and girls will be held after school and are offered to supplement the Physical Education program. Participation is optional and FREE. Intramurals rules and expectations are the same as in P.E. class. Students must wear appropriate athletic style shoes to fully participate. Students must turn in a permission slip (bottom portion only) signed by their parent/guardian.
Students should enter the gym through the doors by the cafeteria. Before and After School students must check in there first, before heading down to the gym. All students must sign in before participating in any Intramurals activity. Parents and siblings are always welcome to stay and watch.
Intramurals will begin on Sept. 23, 2024 and will end the week of March 31, 2025.
3rd grade students will meet on Monday afternoons, every other week, from 2:45-3:30 pm in the gym. Activities include large group games, jump rope, and relay races. Schedules will be sent home so parents can keep track of Intramurals days.
4th and 5th grade students will meet on Friday afternoons, every other week, from 2:45-3:30 pm. Activities include indoor soccer, floor hockey, and volleyball games. Students will practice the skills needed for each activity during P.E. class. I will assist the students in making up teams. Schedules will be sent home so that you and your child know which of the scheduled days your child will be participating. The same format will be followed when we change activities. Games are approximately 20 minutes long.
Students will be dismissed from the gym at approximately 3:30 pm. Students who are walking home or getting a ride home, will exit out the back door by the back parking lot. Only students whose parents are in the gym, can exit out the front of the school. For safety reasons, students waiting for their ride must wait on the sidewalk by the windows or by the ramp by the 5th grade door. Students should not be on the playground.
