Special Education at Independence
The Mild/Moderate Needs (LD) program supports students who receive a variety of services under an Individualized Education Program (IEP) in special education. Students’ educational needs are addressed through specialized instruction and support from the LD teachers and paraprofessional staff. Through special education, students may also receive services provided by a speech-language pathologist, mental health provider, occupational therapist, or physical therapist, depending on their areas of need.
